On Wednesday, June 17, 2020, SEIU Healthcare, CUPE, and Unifor held a special event to support expanding pandemic pay to all healthcare workers. Under the banner of ‘it takes a team to care’ we are continuing to call on the government to not exclude essential healthcare workers across hospitals in Ontario.

Congratulations to SEIU Healthcare member Marlene Long, who was the first RPN to be awarded the 2020 Orillia Soldier’s Memorial Hospital Nurse Alumnae Nightingale Award.

On Tuesday, June 16, 2020, the members at North York General Hospital organized a very successful rally to demand Pandemic Pay for all healthcare workers. Although the government added more healthcare professionals to the Pandemic Pay list, many workers in the health system were still left out.

SEIU Healthcare’s Appreciation Rallies is making its way to Sarnia on Wednesday, June 10, 2020. Over the past few months, we have seen these rallies spread happiness and encouragement.

On Sunday, June 7, 2020, Kingston’s Appreciation Rally will be wrapping up our three-day rally weekend. Hundreds of people have participated in visiting several long-term care homes, nursing homes, and hospitals.
